Deaconess Ministry

Mission Statement:   The Deaconess Ministry is dedicated to the service of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to maintain strong Christian character and to always be ready and willing to assist the Pastor, Deacons, and members in carrying out the vision of the Pastor and the mission of the First Baptist Church of Swedesboro.

Goals:  The goals of the Deaconess Ministry are to be faithful active members who seek to invoke the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all we do.  We assist the Pastor and Deacons with Holy Communion and Baptism candidate preparation.  We greet and welcome worshippers attending Sunday services.  We are dedicated to serve the people within the church fellowship by contacting and visiting the sick and shut-in, supporting the children and youth of the church and, to promote the spiritual growth of the body of Christ.

The Deaconess Ministry is focused on exhibiting love, unity and spiritual growth within our church family and community.  Our theme scripture is:  "I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God". - Romans 12:1-2.

Our goals are to be steadfast in our service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be cognizant when addressing the concerns of our First Baptist Church family.
