Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes First Baptist different from the other churches in the area?

A: While all Christians are unified in the "Body of Christ" or the church, under the Lord Jesus Christ as the head; there remains some distinct characteristics to each individual church. These unique qualities are usually represented by the composition of the membership, the vision statement of the Pastor and the doctrinal beliefs to which the church adheres. At First Baptist, we focus on developing the members to be "more effective in the spiritual service they render to the Lord" (See the link for our Pastor's vision statement). We do this by fostering a loving, patient and peaceful environment that is reflective of the "Fruit of the Spirit" (Galatians 5:22). We strive to enable the members to realize their spiritual purpose and maximize their spiritual gifts, in order to build up one another in the faith and serve others in need.

Q: What are the services like at your church?

A: We hold two worship services at First Baptist, 8:00am and 11:00am. These services are composed of traditional and contemporary elements, which are focused on uplifting the Lord Jesus Christ. The style of worship takes into consideration a wide array of our multi-cultural community and people of all age groups.

Q: Do you have a dress code?

A: There is no dress code, people attend our services in a variety of attire. Our only expectation is that you simply come with a heart of reverence and a desire to seek an encounter of worshiping God in spirit and in truth.

Q: Is your church wheelchair accessible and accommodating to the hearing impaired?

A: Yes, we have a wheelchair ramp leading into the church. We also have an elevator, which can transport someone from the parking lot to the sanctuary. For the hearing impaired, our "Deaf Ministry" regularly translates the 11am worship service into sign language.

Q: Are there programs available for children?

A: Yes, we have a wonderful "Children's Church" program, which functions as an alternative service for youth. They meet in our Fellowship Hall, on the first and second Sunday of each month at 11:00am. We also have ample nursery space (adjacent to our sanctuary) available for parents to care for their young children that may need special attention, during the main worship service. This area is equipped with an audio monitor that will enable the parents to hear the service, while they attend to their children.
